This year has been a transitional one for all. Let’s reflect, learn, breathe and flow with mindfulness to bring forth balance for 2021!
I want to thank all that have read the newsletters, followed, supported and encouraged us (MOE) on the journey. It has been quite a blessing to have met so many wonderful folks (new and old), experience an amazing energy & travel with a community of new family through the transition of the years. It has been so wonderful to reconnect with old friends, family and old souls too!
I hope many have found renewed life and health during these times, taking time to tend to themselves and the ones they love. Thankfully, myself, my family and loved ones have been doing well during these unconditional times. Although, many clients, friends and family of mine are immuno-compromised. I have not returned to my office or massage practice yet downtown. I am not willing to jeopardize their health and well-being until I feel things all-around have come to more of a balance. I have been taking the proper safety and precaution to return to my sanctuary and my massage practice. I look forward to seeing folks again and hope to see some of you through zoom too!
I do receive a small unemployment wage, although it’s just around the corner that it will not be available. I have not regained any compensation for my own private business: lost wages, time and emotional turmoil during the break from my practice. I have continued to pay all my current bills, including rent for my downtown office and home rent. My savings have dwindled through the months to live a modest life to say. I am concerned for future employment and what it will look like in the new normal, living with COVID.

2015 3rd Eye Meditation
In the meantime!! During these past six months, I have been zooming with many online summits, seminars and webinars. I have continued online CEU’s in Ayurveda Holistic Care and Chakra System. I am currently finishing taking CEU’s for Preventing Disease Transmission in a Massage Setting in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This online book and videos offer in-depth information and step-by-step guidance on best practices for ensuring the health of both clients and therapists. https://massagemastery.online
I have been fortunate to have my Holistic Healing Practice and lifestyle, including Kali-Eskrima, Chi Kung, meditation, my own counseling and coaching. My time has been filled with my own self-care. In fact, due to CV, I have come to know myself more and find small moments of peace everyday.
I am in the process of creating an online, zoom, health and wellness series. I will have classes. I will be doing 1 on 1 consultations on healthy natural ways of living for one’s lifestyle. Mimi’s Organic Exchange (MOE), which is located in Chicago, is another kind of network, a healing network that facilitates “positive sharing” among professionals, small businesses, artisans, non-profits, and others interested in developing sustainable connections through social events. MOE supports socially, environmentally, and spiritually sustainable products and services.
In 2006, Mimi Clayton, a self-proclaimed “natural networker,” wanted to create connections among her friends, celebrate their talents, and help them market themselves. So Mimi threw a party in her backyard– a marketing party. The gathering featured art, photography, gardening, tarot card reading, music, food, improv sketches, a tuba player, even a brass band. The event was a success and Clayton realized that people needed a network. After a chance conversation about proactive and holistic approaches to health and living, Clayton decided that people did not just need a network, but an organic one. By definition, organic is “of, relating or derived from living organisms.” Or as Clayton puts it, “life.”

MOE is passionate about teaching and encouraging others to be more open-minded, building community, and forming real connections. In Clayton’s words, we want people to “be respectful to each other. We are living on this planet. We are all living together.
